H
Halaus,
system
Colonised from 4281, this largely agrarian system was the scene of fighting
in the Second Colony War.
Haul-R-S,
company
A multiplanetary haulage firm, specialising in surface transportation
under long-term subcontract to government operations. Founded 4641, the
company was nationalised by the New League, becoming League Terrain Haulage,
and later Imperial Terrain Haulage.
Harper-Jones,
company Formed from the remains of the Old Empire's orbital shipbuilding
facilities in the Draco system, Harper-Jones catered to the high demand
for sturdy civilian and corporate spacecraft during the consolidation
of the Sha'Har frontier in the 4600s. Their clients included Unisoft,
and it was this connection which brought the company to brink of ruin
before a buyout by Magentech in 4676, forming MHCA (Magentech-Harper Consolidated
Aerospace).
Helrad,
Gravin
Revisionist historian responsible for several major studies of the pre-Black
Ages, most notable of which is Machiavelli's Ghosts: Politics, the Father,
and the Sha'Har, notoriously the most misquoted work on the period.
Hilachet
An alien race originating from Marjorie's Star first contacted in 4589
as part of the Dargothan-Squoroshelp-Hilachet trading civilisation. By
far the least active members of this complex, the Hilachet had been engaged
in incessant warfare with the Donachet for as long a thousand years for
reasons which have defied xenosociological investigation. All that is
known is that the war was somehow related to the mineral Low Stark and
subspace. After the Betrayal of 4670, human realtions with the Hilachet
cooled as the Donachet inflicted a series of heavy defeats over following
twenty years. The Hilachet were linked to the Sha'Har in a number of unpleasant
incidents during the Gulf War and Third Colony War, but benefitted from
the establishment of the New League and were on the brink of 'partnership'
when the New Empire was founded. Thereafter, heavy persecution led to
increased insularity and, it has been suggested, a rapport with the Sha'Har
which enabled them to carve a considerable enclave out of the frontier
during the Black Ages.
