London, October 1999 - Sony Computer Entertainment Europe announces the return of its highly acclaimed Psygnosis-developed, Sci-fi epic, Colony Wars, with the third episode in the series, Colony Wars Red Sun, scheduled for release in March 2000. With a further optimized game engine and all-new graphics, a strong cinematic feel communicated through 28 FMV sequences and a sumptuous soundtrack recorded by a professional orchestra, Colony Wars Red Sun promises to push the PlayStation to its utmost limits.

At the far flung reaches of the galaxy, Colony Wars Red Sun offers a brand new adventure which unravels at the very same time the Vengeance war is raging. But instead of siding with the Navy or the League, you play Valdemar, a Han Solo-type military agent, seemingly out for no one but himself. In fact with Red Sun’s revised mission structure, which allows the player to select their own missions thus adding to the game depth, you may find yourself helping the Navy or the League, whether you like it or not!

Raising the Bar
With its two predecessors raising the standard of space combat games to astronomical heights and gaining world-wide critical acclaim, Colony Wars Red Sun has quite a reputation to live up to. Psygnosis’ Leeds Studio is confident that the latest game in the series will continue to push the boundaries of the genre to the extreme. Red Sun will feature 50 different land and space based missions packed with multiple objectives; over 30 new weapons; 9 player ships with fully upgradeable weapons and options; and 5 solar systems including 1 from Vengeance.

Colony Wars Red Sun is a truly cinematic experience, with a professionally scripted storyline following a classical “quest” plot, more quality FMV to carry the story along and a completely new dramatic musical score, as epic as the last one. The gripping linear storyline paired with the new freeform game structure helps to provide an increased emphasis on personal involvement, as players explore the completely interactive 3D environment. Prepare to navigate your own course across war-torn star systems towards your destiny, in what promises to be the most epic battle yet!
